HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Daniel Suarez, 24 and only two
years into a NASCAR XFINITY Series career, can
check another box off his career bucket list. Series
champion.  The Monterrey, Mexico, native became
a winner in the series for the first time earlier this
season to qualify for the inaugural XFINITY Series
Chase. Saturday evening at Homestead-Miami
Speedway, he led 133 of 200 laps that made up
the Ford EcoBoost 300, and survived a wild,
late-race restart to become the first Latin American
driver to capture a NASCAR national series title. He
is the first Joe Gibbs Racing driver to capture the
series title since 2009 when Kyle Busch won the
crown.  Saturday, Suarez outran series veterans
Elliott Sadler (third) and JR Motorsports teammate
Justin Allgaier (sixth) as well as JGR teammate Erik
Jones (ninth) to become the series' 27th different
champion and the 34th overall.  In the Champion-
ship Round, the driver finishing highest wins the
title. Suarez made sure no one, Chase contender
or otherwise, finished in front of his orange and
white No. 19 Toyota.

"I'm speechless right now," Suarez, a graduate of

fans streamed onto the frontstretch to witness the

stien Buemi has made Formula E history by be-
coming the first driver to win three races in a row.
Victory for the Renault e.dams ace continues the
perfect start to his title defence. It was his ninth win
in the all-electric street racing series, and the 12th
for the team. That means Renault e.dams have now
won half of all the Formula E races that have taken
place.  But, in front of 21,000 enthusiastic fans,
Buemi had to work hard for his victory. From his
first-ever Julius Baer pole position, Lucas di Grassi
(ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport) led away at the start,
while Jean-Eric Vergne slotted his TECHEETAH into
second place.

Di Grassi was struggling with his car, and in quick
succession he was passed by Vergne and then
Buemi. TECHEETAH uses the same powertrain as
Renault e.dams, but there was nothing Vergne could
do to stop Buemi charging by into the lead.  Further
back di Grassi had slipped behind the impressive
NextEV NIO of Oliver Turvey and the second Renault
e.dams of Nico Prost as his struggles intensified.

(JAN., 2017) – Continuity and consistency are the
highlights of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series tele-

where it aired in 2016. The logic behind the
schedule is based on continuing to seek opport-
unities to avoid broadcast conflicts with other major
sporting events while giving INDYCAR fans the best
possible viewing times. INDYCAR has experienced
year-over-year growth in its television audience
each of the past three seasons, leading to a
combined 55 percent increase in viewership since

“Today’s announcement is another key step forward
in INDYCAR’s plan of developing continuity and
consistency in both our event calendar and our
television schedule,” said Mark Miles, CEO of

LOS ANGELES, CA (OCT., 2016) –  With all the
shuffling that happened throughout the pack all
weekend long at Red Bull Global Rallycross’
season-ending doubleheader at the Port of Los
Angeles, it seemed like there was a season-
defining (if not at least weekend-defining) move
made in every on-track session. But anyone who
has been following the series from day one knows
that Brian Deegan’s race-winning pass in the
Supercar final on Sunday was not only classic
Deegan, but also perhaps the move of the year,
as he ended a five-year winless drought.  After a
fourth-place run on Thursday, Deegan found him-
self mixing it up in the semifinals when an agg-

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (MARCH 2017) – Few reunions
have better after-parties than the one that will be
enjoyed by Sebastien Bourdais and the Dale Coyne

at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg that
opened the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season

remained in front of the field for all but five of the
subsequent 73 laps to pick up his 36th career win –
breaking a tie with Bobby Unser for sixth all-time.
The victory was all the more celebration-worthy
because it came just a day after Bourdais crashed
in qualifying, which relegated him to the 21st and
